I’m wondering how you decided on spelling. You use an umlaut in Abdulmecit but don’t use a cedilla in Yas(h)im. As a speaker of rusty Turkish I’d prefer Turkish spellings–undotted i’s and all–but understand there must be compromises.
I noticed in Bellini that Yasim is from Trabzon. That’s where I spent two years in the Peace Corps in the sixties. Have you considered having him return to his birthplace?
